5 star review of Clippings!

The excellent review site *Reviews by Jessewave* gave my romance Clippings five stars! I’m very happy with this review, especially because the reviewer, Aunt Lynn, emphasized the sociopolitical aspects of the romance.

The overall evaluation: "Clippings is a wonderful, unusual story that I highly recommend to readers of the genre."

You can read the whole, detailed review here. (Warning: There are a few spoilers.)

Rainbow Awards: Clippings won the "Contemporary Gay Fiction" category!

My gay romance, Clippings, won the “Contemporary Gay Fiction” category of the Rainbow Awards! Elisa Rolle has announced the results here.

It was a hard competition. There were 120 books in the “Contemporary Gay Fiction” category. 453 people voted in Phase 2. Clippings received 102 votes.

In Phase 3, the 16 categories will be competing against each other, and a jury will choose the best book. There will be only one final award. I’m glad that Clippings will be competing. But I’m even more glad that Clippings has won its category by popular vote.

The Rainbow Awards: Clippings has been nominated!

Elisa Rolle has created a new award aimed at the m/m writing community (but not exclusively): The Rainbow Awards. My book Clippings has been nominated in the Contemporary category. I'm very flattered! Feel free to vote for it, if you wish. You can vote here. If you don't have an LJ, leave a comment.

GLBT Writers and Readers Launch Revolutionary Online Community

Bestselling gay author Mel Keegan has masterminded a web-based cohesive organization combining the skills of writers, publishers, editors, agents, reviewers and artists in the GLBT community to provide an unprecedented public access portal to independent- and small-publisher titles. GLBT Bookshelf is an online resource designed to counter the perceived discriminatory practices of major players in the book retail scene.

Frustrated by the infamous “AmazonFail” fiasco of early 2009, in which the online retail giant was suspected of attempting to deny GLBT literature the benefits of its promotional systems, Keegan conceived of an online community in which all such systems were circumvented -- replaced by “community promotion” with direct links to authors’ and publishers’ pages.

You can read more at the GLBT Bookshelf, and there you can find Mirag's page.

Blurb:
Unfairly arrested and charged with the murder of a police officer, Daniel has been jailed indefinitely until trial. A Brazilian prison is a terrible place to lose his innocence. Daniel would have lost more than that — perhaps even his life — if not for Mephisto, his cellmate.

Clippings is the story of the challenges faced by a middle class young man in prison, and his relationship with a dark, mysterious man who seems eager to protect him, but who might have his own inscrutable plans...

You can see a preview and/or buy the paperback version of Clippings from Amazon or Lulu, and the e-book from Lulu.

Clippings got 4 out of 5 stars from the Rainbow Reviews. You can read the review here.
